Terms of Use

Effective date: November 5,2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Network Currency LLC, a California limited liability company (“Network Currency,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Network Currency operates the Obliger mobile application, the website at obligerapp.com, and related services (together, the “Services”).

By creating an account, starting a trial, checking the box to accept these Terms, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

Please read Section 16 carefully. If you live in the United States, it requires you to resolve most disputes with us through individual binding arbitration rather than in court, and it waives your right to bring or take part in a class action. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days, as Section 16.7 explains.

1. Who Can Use Obliger

1.1 Adults only. You must be at least 18 years old, and able to form a binding contract, to create an account or start a trial. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up to confirm this. By using the Services, you confirm that the date of birth you give us is accurate.

1.2 No accounts for minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close the account and delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, please tell us at contact@obligerapp.com.

1.3 Households with children. You may use Obliger to keep track of chores or responsibilities that involve a child, but only through an adult’s account. Children may not have their own accounts or join a Circle. When you create a task that relates to a child, use only the information needed to describe the task, such as a first name or nickname.

1.4 Legal restrictions. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or of the country where you live, including if you appear on a U.S. government list of restricted or sanctioned parties.

2. The Services

2.1 What Obliger does. Obliger helps small groups (“Circles”) keep track of shared, recurring tasks. Members can create tasks, mark them complete, and receive reminders by push notification.

2.2 Trial accounts. You can try Obliger without an email address or password. These Terms apply to trial accounts in the same way as full accounts. A trial account is deleted automatically after 30 days unless you convert it to a full account, and is deleted immediately if you cancel it in Settings.

2.3 Usage limits. Accounts are subject to the limits on our Usage Limits page, which forms part of these Terms. We may change those limits. If we reduce a limit in a way that affects existing accounts, we will update that page and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.

2.4 The Services are free. We do not charge for Obliger. If we introduce paid features, we will show you the price and terms before you buy, and you will not be charged unless you choose to buy them.

2.5 Not an emergency, medical, or safety service. Reminders depend on your device, its settings, your network connection, and third-party notification services, and they can be delayed or fail. Do not rely on Obliger for anything where a missed or late reminder could cause harm, such as taking or giving medication, providing care, or meeting legal, financial, or safety deadlines. You and the members of your Circle remain responsible for making sure tasks get done.

2.6 No backups. We do not keep backups of Your Content that you can access or restore, and we do not guarantee that Your Content will always be available or will never be lost, corrupted, or deleted. Do not rely on Obliger as the only record of information you cannot afford to lose.

3. Your Account

3.1 Security. Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at contact@obligerapp.com if you believe someone has used your account without permission.

3.2 Accurate information. Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current.

3.3 One person per account. Each account is for one person. You may not create an account for someone else or use another person’s account.

4. Circles and Other Members

4.1 Visibility. Everything you add to a Circle, including task names, notes, and completion history, is visible to every member of that Circle, along with your display name.

4.2 Circle owners. The owner of a Circle decides who joins it and can remove members. If you leave or are removed from a Circle, records of tasks you completed may remain in that Circle’s history, as described in our Privacy Policy.

4.3 Relationships between members. We do not supervise Circles. We are not responsible for how members treat one another, whether tasks get done, or any arrangement between members, including any agreement about chores, care, or payment. Disputes between members are between those members.

4.4 Invitations. Invite only people who know you and expect to hear from you.

5. Your Content

5.1 What it covers. “Your Content” means the display names, Circle names, task names, notes, and other information you add to the Services.

5.2 Ownership and license. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Services and to comply with law. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for copies kept as required by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5.3 Your responsibility. You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to add it, that it does not violate anyone’s rights or any law, and that you have permission to include any information about another person.

5.4 Sensitive information. Obliger does not ask for health information or other sensitive information. If you choose to add it, for example medication times in a caregiving Circle, every member of that Circle will see it. Add only what you are comfortable sharing with all of them.

5.5 Removal. We may remove or restrict access to Your Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the law. We are not obligated to review Your Content.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

7. Our Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership. The Services, including the app, software, design, text, graphics, and the Obliger name and logo, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights in them except the license in Section 7.2.

7.2 License to use the app. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal use or the internal use of your household, group, or organization, and in line with the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

7.3 Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information. It is a notice of our practices and is not part of these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including Apple, Google, and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms govern their services. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the availability, performance, or acts of third-party services, or for third-party websites that the Services link to.

10. Changes to the Services, Suspension, and Termination

10.1 Changes to the Services. We may change, add, or remove features, or suspend or discontinue all or part of the Services, at any time. If we decide to shut down Obliger entirely, we will try to give at least 30 days’ notice in the app or by email.

10.2 Ending your account. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time in Settings, or by contacting us at contact@obligerapp.com. You can end a trial at any time with the Cancel My Trial option in Settings.

10.3 Suspension or termination by us. We may suspend or end your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates a risk of harm or legal exposure for us or for others. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. If we end your account for breach of these Terms, you may not create a new account without our permission.

10.4 Survival. Sections 5.3, 7, and 12 through 22 continue to apply after your account ends.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect, unless the change is required by law or relates to a new feature or to security, in which case it may take effect sooner. By continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and delete your account. A change to these Terms will not apply to a dispute that either of us has already given notice of under Section 16.1.

12. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT REMINDERS WILL BE DELIVERED, OR THAT YOUR CONTENT WILL NOT BE LOST. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THESE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Limitation of Liability

13.1 Free service. The Services are provided free of charge. You agree that the limits in this Section 13 reflect that fact and are a fair allocation of risk between you and us.

13.2 Excluded damages. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NETWORK CURRENCY AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND LICENSORS (THE “OBLIGER PARTIES”) WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, MISSED OR LATE TASKS OR REMINDERS, OR LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON A REMINDER, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

13.3 Cap. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OBLIGER PARTIES’ TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50).

13.4 What this section does not limit. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

13.5 Scope. This Section 13 applies to all claims, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Obliger Parties from any third-party claim, and any related loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or of anyone else’s rights. We may take control of the defense of any such claim, and you will cooperate with us. This section does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach of these Terms.

15. Consumers Outside the United States

If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, or another country whose consumer laws give you rights that a contract cannot waive or limit, nothing in these Terms affects those rights. In particular:

16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

This Section 16 applies if you live in the United States.

16.1 Informal resolution first. Before starting an arbitration or court case, you and we agree to try to resolve any dispute informally. The party raising the dispute must send a written notice describing it and the relief sought: to us, by email to contact@obligerapp.com and by mail to the address in Section 23; to you, at the email address on your account. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days after the notice is received, either party may start a proceeding as this Section 16 allows.

16.2 Agreement to arbitrate. Except as Section 16.4 provides, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, available at adr.org. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section 16. The arbitrator decides all questions about the scope and enforceability of this agreement to arbitrate, except that a court decides any question about Sections 16.5 and 16.6.

16.3 Location and fees. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live, or by video, telephone, or written submissions if you prefer. Payment of filing, administrative, and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.

16.4 Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Either party may also ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorized access to the Services.

16.5 Class action waiver. You and we may bring claims against each other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person’s claims and may award relief only to the individual party seeking it, and only to the extent needed to resolve that party’s individual claim.

16.6 Public injunctive relief and severability. If a court decides that applicable law does not allow a claim for public injunctive relief to be waived or arbitrated, that claim will be severed and decided by a court under Section 17, after the individual claims have been arbitrated. If a court decides that Section 16.5 is unenforceable for any claim, that claim will be decided by a court under Section 17 and not in arbitration.

16.7 Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing contact@obligerapp.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Include your name, the email address on your account, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

16.8 Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be filed within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.

17. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and, for Section 16, by the Federal Arbitration Act. Subject to Sections 15 and 16, any court proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

18. Apple App Store Terms

If you downloaded Obliger from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

19. Google Play Terms

If you downloaded Obliger from Google Play, Google’s terms of service for Google Play also apply to your use of Google Play. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the app. If these Terms conflict with Google’s terms on a matter concerning Google Play, Google’s terms control for that matter.

20. Electronic Communications and Notices

You agree to receive agreements, notices, and other communications from us electronically, by email or in the app, and agree that they satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing. We will send notices to the email address on your account, or show them in the app. You may send notices to us at the addresses in Section 23.

21. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without your consent, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. We will notify you of any assignment that changes who provides the Services to you.

22. General Terms

These Terms, including the Usage Limits page and, where they apply, Sections 18 and 19, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services and replace any earlier agreement on that subject. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest of these Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us. Except as Sections 13, 14, and 18 provide, these Terms do not give rights to anyone else. If these Terms are translated, the English version controls. Headings are for convenience only.
