Obliger stores everything on a server, not on your device and not peer-to-peer. When you create a task or mark one done, that action goes to a cloud-based Postgres database. Every other member of your Circle reads from that same database, which is what lets everyone see the same task list and the same completion history.
Nobody in your Circle sees anything until it's saved to the server. There's no direct connection between your phone and another member's phone. If your phone is off or you have no signal, your teammates just see the list as it last stood.
Updates aren't instant. When someone else completes a task, you'll see it the next time you open the app or pull to refresh, not the moment it happens. Obliger is built for daily coordination, not live chat.
Who can see what. Anyone in a Circle can see that Circle's tasks, notes, and who completed what and when. Obliger has no public pages and no way for someone outside your Circles to see your data.
Notifications. Your daily reminder is sent from our server through Apple's and Google's own push notification services. We don't track your location, and we don't use analytics or advertising identifiers.
