Enter your email address and password and tap Sign In. If you don't have an account yet, tap Sign Up to create one. If you've forgotten your password, tap Forgot Password.
Tap Start Trial from the Login screen to try Obliger without creating an account. You'll be asked for your name and date of birth, and Obliger sets you up with a starter Circle and an example task so you can see how everything works right away. A trial account is temporary. You can convert it to a full account at any time from Settings, or it will be automatically deleted after 30 days if you don't.
Enter your email address, a display name, and a password. Your display name is the default name other Circle members will see -- you can change it later in Settings, and you can also set a different name for each Circle you join. Tap Create Account to finish. You'll be signed in immediately.
Enter your email address and tap Send Code. You'll receive an email containing a verification code. Enter that code on the next screen to set a new password.
If you don't see the email, check your spam folder. When you find it, enter the code manually rather than tapping any link in the email -- some email apps consume the link automatically before you can use it.
Enter the verification code from your email, then enter and confirm your new password. Tap Reset Password. You'll be signed in with your new password immediately.
The Task List is the main screen of Obliger. It shows all tasks across your Circles, with overdue and upcoming tasks sorted by due date so the most urgent items appear first.
Use the Circle selector at the top to filter tasks down to a single Circle. Tap any task to open its detail.
Tap the + button to add a new task to the currently selected Circle.
The Task Detail screen shows everything about a task and is where you take action on it.
Details card. Shows the task name, which Circle it belongs to, its due date (highlighted if overdue or due today), and any notes. Two action buttons appear at the bottom of this card:
Owner. Shows who owns the task. If you are the owner, a Change Owner button appears. Tap it to transfer ownership to any other member of the Circle. The previous owner stays in the Circle as a regular member. Only the owner can edit the task, unless the owner has allowed all members to edit it.
Recurrence card (recurring tasks only). Shows the recurrence schedule and the next due date. An End Recurrence button appears at the bottom of this card. Tapping it permanently stops the task from repeating after a confirmation prompt -- this cannot be undone.
History. A full log of every completion appears at the bottom of the screen, showing who marked the task done and when.
If you are the task owner, or if the owner has allowed all members to edit, an Edit button appears at the top right. If you are not the owner and editing is not enabled, the task is read-only.
Tap the + button on the Task List to open this screen. Fill in:
Tap Save. The task appears immediately on the Task List.
Contains the same fields as New Task. Accessible from the Task Detail screen if you are the owner, or if the owner has allowed all members to edit. Changes take effect immediately on save.
If editing is not enabled and you are not the owner, all fields appear grayed out and cannot be changed.
Shows all Circles you belong to, sorted alphabetically. Tap any Circle to open its detail. Two buttons at the top let you create a new Circle or join an existing one with an invite code. New accounts start with an example Circle and task already in place, so you can see how Obliger works right away. If you're using a trial account, you can create more Circles of your own, but you can't join other Circles or invite anyone to yours until you convert to a full account.
Shows the full picture of a Circle and its members.
Join Code. Every Circle has a unique invite code. A Copy Code button copies it to your clipboard so you can share it however you like.
Owner. Shows who owns the Circle. If you are the owner, a Change Owner button appears. Tap it to select any other Circle member as the new owner. The previous owner stays in the Circle as a regular member.
Members. A list of everyone in the Circle, shown by their display name for that Circle.
Invite Someone. Opens the Invite Someone screen where you can share the join code or send an email invitation.
If you are the Circle owner, an Edit button appears at the top right, allowing you to rename the Circle. Only the owner can edit the Circle name.
Enter a name for your Circle and tap Create. You'll be taken directly to the Circle Detail screen. You are automatically the owner, and you'll appear in the Circle under your app display name. Share the join code with people you want to add.
Enter the invite code shared with you by a Circle owner or member. Before joining, you'll be asked to choose the display name you want to use in that Circle. It defaults to your app display name, but you can set it to anything you like -- useful when different groups know you by different names.
Your per-Circle display name is set at join time and applies only to that Circle. Changing your app display name in Settings later will not change the name you chose for a Circle you've already joined.
Shows the Circle name and its join code. Two options for sharing:
Anyone who receives the code can join by opening Obliger, tapping Join Circle on the Circles tab, and entering the code. They'll need an Obliger account to join.
Accessible from the Circle Detail screen for Circle owners only. Change the Circle name and tap Save. The new name appears immediately everywhere in the app. Only the Circle owner can access this screen.
Profile. Your display name and email are shown and editable inline. Tap either field to edit it directly on the screen. A Save button appears in the header when you make a change.
Notification Time. The single hour of day when Obliger sends your daily reminder about tasks that are due. Each person sets their own notification time -- your preference does not affect other Circle members. This is one time for all your tasks, not a separate time per task.
Appearance. Toggle between light and dark mode, or follow your device's system setting.

Usage Limits. To keep server costs manageable, your account can own up to 3 Circles, belong to 5 Circles total, and a Circle can have up to 10 members. See Usage Limits for more.

Terms of Use. Opens the Obliger Terms of Use.
Change Password. Enter your current password and a new one to update it.
Log Out. Signs you out of the app. Your data is preserved and you can sign back in at any time.
Delete Account. Permanently deletes your account. See below.
If you're using a trial account, this section shows Cancel My Trial instead, which permanently deletes your trial account and its data immediately.
Enter your current password, then your new password, and tap Save. If your current password is incorrect, the change is blocked.
Permanently and irreversibly deletes your Obliger account. This screen requires two confirmations before anything is deleted.
If you own a Circle that has other members, you'll need to remove those members or transfer ownership before you can delete your account. If you own a Circle where you're the only member, deleting your account also deletes that Circle.
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed: your account and profile, any Circles you solely own, the tasks in them, and your completion history. This cannot be undone. Your actions on tasks in other people's Circles, like a completion or status change you logged, stay in that Circle's history, just without your name attached. This does not apply to tasks you created in a Circle you don't own: deleting your account also deletes those tasks entirely, along with their full history, including entries logged by other members.
What's a trial account, and what happens to it?
A trial account lets you try Obliger without an email or password. Like every new account, it starts with an example Circle and task. It can create more Circles like a full account can, but it can't join other Circles or invite anyone until you convert it. If you don't convert or cancel it, it's automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days.
Why didn't I get notifications?
Make sure you're signed in on the device you want to receive push notifications on. If you've signed out, that device stops receiving them until you sign back in.
I accidentally deleted something I shouldn't have. Can I get it back?
It depends what was deleted. A deleted Circle is hidden right away, but its contents are still recoverable by contacting support for up to 30 days afterward. After that, it's gone permanently. Tasks are never deleted on their own; ending a recurring task's recurrence is the one exception and can't be undone. Deleting your account is always permanent and can't be undone either, including any tasks you created in Circles you don't own, along with their full history. If you're not sure whether something can still be recovered, contact us at contact@obligerapp.com as soon as you notice. The sooner you reach out, the better the odds.
Why can't I deselect everyone from task notifications?
Every active task needs at least one person receiving notifications for it. If you'd rather someone else handle reminders for a task, you can uncheck yourself as long as at least one other Circle member stays checked.
What if I want to snooze notifications for a task?
Push the task's due date out to whenever you'd like to be reminded again. There's no separate snooze control; the due date is what drives reminders.
